Booking Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 04/10/26
These terms apply to bookings for House of Questions face-to-face and live online sessions.
By booking a session, you agree to these terms.
1. About House of Questions
House of Questions provides informal adult-learning sessions that explore psychology, human behaviour, and related topics.
Sessions are provided for interest and general education.
They do not lead to a formal qualification and are not intended as medical, psychological, legal or other professional advice.
2. Booking
Places are subject to availability.
Your place is confirmed once you complete the booking process and we receive payment.
Bookings may be processed through Humanitix.
Please check that the information you enter during booking, including your email address, is correct.
3. Prices
The price shown at the time of booking is the price you will pay for that session.
Any booking or transaction fee charged through the booking platform will be shown before payment is completed.
4. Face-to-face sessions
Face-to-face sessions will take place at the venue, date and time shown on the booking page.
Please allow enough time to arrive before the advertised start time.
Unless otherwise stated, face-to-face sessions are normally approximately 2½ hours, including a short refreshment break.
5. Live online sessions
Live online sessions are delivered using Zoom or another suitable online platform.
Joining information will normally be sent to the email address used when booking.
You are responsible for having:
-
a suitable internet connection
-
a compatible device
-
functioning audio
-
access to the joining link
Unless otherwise stated, live online sessions are approximately 2 hours.
Please do not share private joining links with anyone who has not booked a place.
6. Cancellations by you
For dated face-to-face and live online sessions, cancellation rights can differ from ordinary online purchases because services related to leisure activities supplied for a specific date or period are excluded from the usual statutory 14-day cooling-off right.
House of Questions nevertheless offers the following booking policy:
More than 7 days before the session:
You may request a refund or transfer your place to another available session.
Between 48 hours and 7 days before the session:
We will normally offer a transfer to another available session rather than a refund.
Less than 48 hours before the session or non-attendance:
Refunds or transfers will not normally be available.
If you cannot attend, please contact:
hello@houseofquestions.co.uk
We may make exceptions in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.
7. Transfers
Where possible, you may ask to transfer your booking to another date or venue.
Transfers are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
8. Cancellation or changes by House of Questions
Occasionally we may need to cancel, postpone or change a session because of:
-
insufficient bookings
-
tutor illness
-
venue problems
-
technical issues
-
circumstances outside our reasonable control
If House of Questions cancels a session, you will normally be offered:
-
a full refund, or
-
transfer to another suitable session
We are not responsible for additional expenses such as travel or accommodation costs.
9. Minimum numbers
Sessions may require a minimum number of participants to run.
If a session does not reach the required number, we may cancel or rearrange it.
You will be informed as soon as reasonably possible and offered a refund or alternative date.
10. Course content
Course descriptions are intended to give a fair indication of the material covered.
We may make reasonable changes to the order, examples, activities or content where this improves the session or is necessary for practical reasons.
11. Participation and behaviour
House of Questions aims to provide a welcoming environment in which people can discuss ideas respectfully.
We may ask someone to leave a session if their behaviour is threatening, abusive, discriminatory, seriously disruptive or unsafe.
A refund will not normally be given where a participant is removed for unacceptable behaviour.
12. Sensitive topics
Some courses may discuss crime, mental health, manipulation, coercive behaviour or other sensitive subjects.
Course descriptions will aim to make the nature of the topic reasonably clear before booking.
If you have concerns about whether a particular session is suitable for you, you are welcome to contact us before booking.
13. Photography and recording
Participants may not make audio or video recordings of sessions without permission.
House of Questions will not normally record live sessions.
If photography or recording is planned, participants will be told beforehand and appropriate consent will be sought where required.
14. Course materials
Slides, handouts, worksheets, videos and other course materials remain the intellectual property of House of Questions or the relevant rights holder unless otherwise stated.
They are provided for personal use only and should not be copied, distributed, uploaded, sold or commercially reused without permission.
15. Accessibility
We want sessions to be as accessible as reasonably possible.
If you have an access requirement, please contact us before booking or as early as possible so we can discuss what arrangements may be available.
16. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
House of Questions is not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the booking was made.
17. Future self-paced courses
These booking terms currently apply primarily to scheduled face-to-face and live online sessions.
Separate or additional terms may apply when self-paced digital courses become available.
